Legal Requirements
Notice of Intention to Marry – Form 13
Your Notice of Intention to Marry legally needs to be lodged a minimum of a month prior to your wedding date. I work through completing this with you.
You will need to provide a birth certificate and photo identification such as a passport or drivers licence at time of completing the Notice of Intention to Marry.
If you have previously been married, you will need to provide proof of the closure of that marriage such as proof of divorce or death certificate.
Declaration – Form 14
Completed with me at your rehearsal or a few days prior to your wedding day
Couples Certificate – Form 15
This is the certificate of your marriage that we will sign on your wedding day. This is not your legal marriage certificate but is used for photos and for you take home
Marriage Certificate – Form 16
This is signed during your ceremony by yourselves, your two witnesses who are over 18 years of age, and myself.
Following the ceremony I lodge the above forms to legally register your marriage. Once you have received your official Marriage Certificate from Births, Deaths and Marriages you can use this certificate to change your name should you wish to do so.

I am based in Central Victoria and officiate ceremonies in Echuca, Bendigo, Ballarat, Swan Hill and Geelong and am happy to travel anywhere in between.
Ceremonies can be 15 minutes to 40 minutes long – it's your day so it is up to you how little or how much you would like incorporated. I have worked with couples who have included readings from their children and parents, couples who have included rituals and cultural aspects and couples who have had their pets attend the ceremony – whatever is important to you is important to me!
